Worth knowing about the piping
In order to transport water from A to B or to control or interrupt the water flow in a targeted manner, pool piping is necessary in your swimming pool or from the pool to the pool technology such as the filter system or pool heating. The connecting pieces such as pipes and hoses are a necessary component for the smooth, proper functioning of your pool and the enjoyment of swimming. The pipes and hoses can be simply screwed or glued together with fittings to achieve the individual desired length. You will need special PVC adhesives and PVC cleaners.
What to do in case of leaks and damage?
First make sure you have the right hose size for your connections of any kind. This affects many areas of your pool: Connecting hoses are required in pool technology, for example for sand and cartridge filter systems, pool heating and pool accessories, as well as for vacuum cleaners, pool brushes and other cleaning equipment.
Hose connections for all commercially available swimming pool hoses usually have a diameter of 32 or 38 mm. You can find a remedy with adapters if you have a 32 mm hose but a 38 mm connection, for example. If necessary, use hose clamps to tighten the connections.
Holes, cracks and the like can occur in many different ways. Due to use, UV radiation and when chlorine is used to disinfect water, the material can become porous over time and thus leak. Likewise, small stones or other sharp objects can damage the plastic of the PVC pipe or hose. Please note that this is normal wear and tear. Porous areas can be repaired with a special PVC adhesive. If necessary, the pipes or hoses must be replaced so that no damage is caused by draining water and you do not have unnecessary loss of water and energy.
